Features a Europa Star in the centre, inspired by the Europa star logo. In the centre is the national element of the French Republic - the allegorical female figure of Marianne’s face is dressed with floating flags, with the year of issue and mintmarks appearing on the bottom of the coin. Inscriptions EUROPE GOTHIQUE and RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE.
