The obverse of the banknote depicts a portrait of Volodymyr Vernadsky (1863–1945), a world-famous natural scientist, founder of the complex of modern Earth sciences - geochemistry and biogeochemistry, philosopher, the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The decorating element is a hologram.
