A single sugar maple leaf is at the centre of the coin. Against a laser-engraved relief pattern, the maple leaf's multiple engraved facets are individually plated with either yellow or rose gold. Ten more geometric shapes—one for each Canadian maple species—form a partial frame, while a special privy mark denotes the 25th anniversary (1996-2021) of the maple's designation as the official national arboreal emblem of Canada. 2021
